SuRaksha stands as a beacon of care and protection for many. Our mission extends beyond mere benevolence; we are devoted to supporting individuals grappling with illness, and unable to shoulder the financial burden of essential medical care. Presently, our efforts touch the lives of four individuals, each of them exhibiting a courageous tale of resilience in the face of adversity.
Residing in the city of Amritsar, two of our beneficiaries find solace in SuRaksha’s support. The first is an unmarried, elderly, lady, residing with her nephew. She works as a house helper without a fixed income. Beneath her struggles are the signs of untreated ailments – high blood pressure and diabetes; ailments, that if left unattended, could cast a daunting shadow over her twilight years. A fortuitous encounter with someone connected to our team made us aware of her plight, and we happily reached out to extend our assistance. For the past four months, SuRaksha has been her steadfast ally, ensuring she receives the medications vital for her well-being.
The second beneficiary from Amritsar is a widow, bravely navigating life with her 13-year-old son. Her husband’s demise led her into the laborious confines of a small-scale masala packing unit. As she persevered for her and her son, a persistent allergy emerged on her hands, gradually spreading across her entire body. The financial strain of her medical expenses, amounting to INR 1000 per week, rendered her unable to work. Working in the unorganised sector, she faced an impossible task of sustaining herself and her son. Since January 2024, SuRaksha has been taking care of her weekly medication bills, and embracing her into our compassionate family.
Venturing into Delhi’s Trans Yamuna region, we encounter a family of three elderly individuals, weathering the storm of health challenges with grace. Devoid of an earning member, this family found a pillar of support in SuRaksha since December 2023.
A distinctive feature of our organization lies in our commitment to transparency and direct impact. Rather than disbursing cash to beneficiaries, SuRaksha diligently liaises with vendors. Payments are made directly, only after a comprehensive discussion and the submission of detailed bills, ensuring that the support of our foundation and our donors is distributed quickly, precisely, and impactfully. .
